EDF Energy, through a new partnership with Powervault, is offering existing solar PV owners the chance to earn more from their systems by purchasing one of the most advanced and cost effective home battery systems on the market at a heavily discounted price when they sign up to EDF Energy grid services.  

Green Angel Syndicate announced its latest investment in the award-winning home electricity storage company Powervault last week, with a £280,000 investment as part of a £1 million round. This is the third investment round in which Green Angel Syndicate has participated. Powervault’s battery based system stores free solar energy and cheap, off-peak electricity from the grid, enabling customers to cut their bills by using stored electricity when it would otherwise be expensive.

After 6 months of screening and proposal preparation, the inaugural run of Japan Energy Challenge took place on 4-6 July in London. Highlighted by dozens of meetings between the executives of Japan’s largest and most innovative energy sector companies and Europe’s best startups, all participants left with a greater understanding of their respective markets and product offerings.

On Friday, UK Power Networks confirmed it will use Powervault energy storage systems to deliver local flexibility, in what will be the first time homeowners are paid to support the distribution network.
