InsightPowervault announced amongst finalists for the 16th annual Green Energy Awards

Powervault have been nominated and shortlisted for the Clean Energy Scheme of the year award due to our work with EDF Energy to provide Grid Servicing to the local and National Grid to reduce dependency on coal-fired plants by shifting energy demand away from peak times. This award recognises pioneering clean energy schemes that are up and running and delivering significant carbon savings.

The awards are a leading national celebration of the innovative technologies, pioneering companies and inspiring individuals shaking up the energy system.

More than 120 entries were submitted this year by companies and individuals across the UK for consideration the five categories. This year’s awards recognise achievements in local energy organisations, leading innovative companies, inspiring community energy organisations as well as the pioneering individuals, spearheading the transition to a more sustainable future.

Powervault, along with the other shortlisted nominations, will now go through to the final stage of judging, where an expert panel of independent judges will select the winners who will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony at Bath’s historic Assembly Rooms on 27 November 2019.

Joe Warren, CEO, Powervault said: “We have worked with EDF Energy for more than six months to develop this market-leading proposition and are delighted to have been shortlisted for the Green Energy Awards, Clean Energy Scheme of the year. By choosing EDF Energy’s grid services offer, customers not only benefit from a large up-front discount on our new Powervault 3 product and all the energy-saving features it provides, they’ll also be helping make the grid more resilient whilst contributing to a greener and more sustainable energy system”.

Merlin Hyman, chief executive, Regen, said: “We were excited to see so many strong nominations for the awards from inspiring people, great companies and pioneering projects at the forefront of the transformation to a zero-carbon energy system. The awards dinner is set to be an uplifting celebration of the extraordinary achievements of the sustainable energy sector.”
