The British Small Business Awards event is a celebration of the UK’s small business sector, recognising the nation’s best sole traders, micro businesses and small companies – as well as the services providers and advisers that support them.
Any company with less than 50 employees is classified as a ‘small business’, and it’s estimated there are around 5.4 million small businesses in the UK. They account for 99.3 per cent of all private sector businesses, with a combined annual turnover of £1.2 trillion. The BSBA event is a way of giving small businesses recognition for their continued contribution to the success of Britain’s economy, and the winners are selected by a panel of established industry leaders and entrepreneurs.
Powervault was shortlisted against 9 other nominees in the Disruptor of the Year category, a category that rewards a business that has shown a demonstrable ability to bring market-changing ideas to a sector, with the resulting product/service being truly innovative.
The ceremony took place on November 1st 2017 at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London, and Nick Wood, Commercial Analyst at Powervault (pictured) was in attendance to collect the award.
